Being on the other side of a helping hand doesn’t come easy to Kathy Cadogan. She’s a consummate volunteer, and when friends and family asked to help her, she turned them down.
“I just think there are a lot of people in the world that need help and I don’t think of myself as one of them,” she said.
But they couldn’t sit back and watch as Cadogan’s two sons, Patrick, 19, and Ryan, 18, struggled with neurofibromatosis, also known as NF, a genetic disease that produces tumors in the nervous system.
